Every day, girls and women in Ho and across Ghana struggle with period poverty, stigma, and environments that fail to support menstrual health and dignity.

At CFA, this is personal. It is something we see and understand firsthand. We have responded by experimenting with reusable pads, learning how to make them, teaching others to do the same, and following up to see how well they are adopted in rural communities. We hold open conversations about menstrual health in our clubs and camps, with boys and girls together. Bit by bit, it is making a difference.

But we can do more with your help.
Lasting change requires consistent support, stronger policies, and collective action to build a where no girl in our programs or anywhere misses opportunities or dignity because of her period.

This Menstrual Hygiene Day, we are bringing it to the forefront and asking for your support.

School is back in session after the holiday break and students are excited to continue the engaging activities they experienced in our Easter Reads program. Each class brings its own energy and ideas, and we are seeing students apply their literacy skills with a confidence we haven't seen before.

Help us keep the momentum going β€” support our literacy program at pagusafrica.org.

Some of the most important mentors never carry that title.

Chery has been part of Pagus CFA for over ten years β€” a steady, trusted presence for the young women in our programs. On Mother's Day, we recognize her and every woman who invests in the next generation: the ones who listen, encourage, and show up consistently.
That kind of care is the foundation of everything we build together.

Handful β€” the enslaved girl at the heart of The Invention of Wings β€” refuses to be owned. She lies, she resists, she runs. For our interns reading Sue Monk Kidd's novel, this is where the conversation gets uncomfortable β€” and necessary.
In a culture that prizes deference to elders and authority, what does it mean to call defiance a virtue? When is it? When isn't it? The interns disagree. That's the point.

Reading like this is leadership training. Help us keep the books on the shelf β€” $40 sponsors a season of intern book club. www.pagusafrica.org/donate.

Learning to write is easier when you do it together.
In Sandra's writing classes at our partner schools in the Volta Region, students are writing short profiles about themselves and their families β€” and discovering they have stories worth telling.

"Nothing inspires me more than seeing my learners grow as confident writers." β€” Sandra, Path to Success intern

We could really use your help to keep this momentum going. Every little bit helps at pagusafrica.org

When girls get the chance to explore digital skills, they discover new possibilities β€” and become creators, innovators, and problem solvers who can shape the world around them.At CFA, we're giving girls that opportunity: the confidence to dream boldly and the tools to grow in the digital space.

$70 a month keeps our students connected to the internet they need to learn, lead, and build what's next. www.pagusafrica.org/donate

Imagine where books are treasure waiting to be found, where stories are read aloud and every word is pointed to with care.
During the Easter holidays our learners explore the joy of listening to stories that come to life, building reading skills and expressing their ideas through hands-on creative activities.

This is where confident, independent readers are born. As an intern facilitating these classes, it is a joy to watch learners grow.
