There are moments that remind you exactly why you started.
In 2008, Kyara became the very first child to enroll at It Takes A Village. She was just a baby.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of watching her grow—not only in age, but in character, determination, and purpose. To witness her graduate and begin this next chapter is a gift I don’t take for granted.
Today, I had the honor of surprising her with the very first ITAVC Legacy Scholarship. 💙🎓
Some moments are bigger than a scholarship. It is a symbol of everything It Takes A Village has always stood for: believing in children, investing in their futures, and reminding them that they are never walking alone.
People often ask why this work means so much to me.
This is why.
The babies we once rocked become the graduates we proudly celebrate. The seeds we plant today become tomorrow’s leaders.
Children may outgrow our classrooms, but they never outgrow our hearts.
Kyara, thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey from the very beginning. We are incredibly proud of the young woman you have become, and we cannot wait to see where life takes you next.
