Lincoln Elementary teacher, Diane Wood, was inspired to create a school vegetable garden/outdoor classroom for Lincoln students after learning how many of our students identified as being "Nature Smart" on a Multiple Intelligence survey given in 2013. Diane reached out to partner with the nonprofit organization Earth Rebirth and the “Garden Your Own Growth” program - which is dedicated to setting

up a garden at every school in Norman that can contribute to the cafeteria supply as a city-wide network. Volunteers have now been coming to Lincoln to work with students after-school, teaching them how to garden, harvest and prepare their garden. The garden began to expand in 2014 and we currently have 16 vegetable beds set up and are constantly seeking new ways to add to our plan. Our students are very excited about growing their own vegetables at school and then taking them home to share with their families and we hope to harness that excitement in our garden for years to come. ROOTS TO GROW 2019
FINISHING A SIX YEAR GOAL

Earth Rebirth is hosting our FREE annual Roots to Grow fundraiser at the Main Street Event Center in Norman. We hope you will consider joining us as a member of Earth Rebirth or make a one-time donation. Dinner and a chocolate fountain will be provided along with a paid full bar. PLUS, the EARTH REBUS will be parked out front for you to see in person!

10 schools left that need a garden. 120 seats. One night.

Goal: $10,000.
