Hey All!! ISSB is happening this semester! If you are interested in joining ISSB please fill out the Wufoo form below. You can join ISSB if you are a current OU international student (this includes students studying in their home countries).
We currently have the following ISSB opportunities:
ISSB @ Home: we will be launching a video from an ISSB student every Friday on our social media pages. You will film yourself presenting about your culture, teaching us how to cook a dish from your country, a phrase in your language, and/or etc. There is no set date for this opportunity and we are hoping to be able to post a new ISSB studentβs video every Friday.
Becoming Globally Engaged course: is Thursday, October 8th 5-5:50pm (in-person or virtual). You will be on a panel of other international students presenting in an informal way about your culture(s).
College of Education: is looking for international students willing to be interviewed by students taking certain courses. If you are interested in this opportunity your email will be shared to the professor and students will reach out to you to set up an interview time.
Alcott Middle School: there will be informal panels of international students answering middle school student questions. Date and time have not been set.

OU International Student Speakers Bureau - ISSB
ISSB is an OU program through which international students volunteer to share their knowledge about their home countries to local community groups.
The goal of ISSB is to promote global awareness in local schools and area community groups. The audiences often learn that although someone may have a different culture, they still have many of the same interests and concerns. Whatever the similarities or differences, ISSB brings international students and Oklahomans together to explore each other's cultures. This helps break down stereotypes and

Yesterday, our ISSB speakers, Alejandra and Jafet presented to almost 500 high school students of Norman HS! Their speech was about their high school experiences from their home country and abroad. Very inspiring and insightful!

OUr enthusiastic International Student Speakers Bureau (ISSB) member, Priyam, presented about the U. K. to first graders of Adams Elementary School last Monday! π is an incredible platform for OU international students to share their cultures and traditions to the local community. Are you from Central America? Want to come talk about what your secondary school experience was like to 500 high school sophomores? ISSB will be going to Norman High School on Wednesday, November 13th from 1:30-2 (we will leave OU around 1:10). This will be a panel so you will be presenting with 2 other students.
