The OU Law MLS in Healthcare Law Program is thrilled to spotlight Blake Edwards, MLS Candidate (OU Law '25). Blake is Chief Quality and Compliance Officer at Columbia Valley Community Health in north central Washington State. His OU Law degree will help him navigate complex healthcare regulations and risk management, bridging healthcare and legal domains. Thank you for being in our program, Blake!

We are delighted to feature alumnus Landon Hise, a 2021 graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Law's MLS in Healthcare Law program. Landon is a seasoned healthcare leader with 21 years of industry experience, including 11 years as a Chief Executive Officer. He currently serves as the CEO of the Oklahoma Center for Orthopaedic and Multi-Specialty Surgery Hospital in Oklahoma City, overseeing the operations of a premier surgical facility.

The knowledge gained through the MLS program provided Landon with a deeper understanding of critical healthcare regulations, including Stark Law and EMTALA, and equipped him to navigate the complexities of the healthcare industry with confidence. He credits the program with enhancing his leadership capabilities and enabling him to make more informed, strategic decisions that have positively impacted patients, employees, and stakeholders.

The OU Law MLS in Healthcare Law Program is delighted to spotlight alumnus W. Todd Smith, MD, MMM, MLS (OU '21), FACHE, FAAOS!

Dr. Smith transitioned from a career in Orthopedic Surgery to Hospital Administration. Dr. Smith was the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at the Mississippi Division of Medicaid and is now the CMO at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. Dr. Smith states: “I use my MLS degree frequently. Healthcare is very regulated, and the knowledge from OU Law equipped me to navigate this complex area. I highly recommend OU Law. This program deepened my understanding of the law and it’s impact on healthcare.”

The OU Law MLS in Healthcare Law Program is delighted to feature current student Theresa Jones, BSN, CPHRM, MLS Cand. (OU Law '25)!

With 27 years experience as a Registered Nurse, Theresa currently serves as a Senior Risk Solutions Consultant at MedPro Group, a provider of healthcare liability insurance for physicians, surgeons, dentists and other healthcare professionals, as well as hospitals, senior care, and other healthcare facilities. Theresa enrolled in the MLS in Healthcare Law Program to deepen her health law knowledge and ensure compliance while providing excellent customer service to MedPro's insured clients.

The OU Law MLS in Healthcare Law Program is thrilled to feature current student Mallory Fletcher, BCBA, LBA, MLS Cand. (OU Law ‘25):

Mallory is a Quality Assurance and Public Policy professional for a national ABA provider for children with Autism. She will leverage her degree to enhance quality, ensure compliance, and improve the regulatory framework governing ABA providers, ultimately benefiting those in need.
