Movement has always been a way of synthesizing and integrating my experiences. My mind moves quickly and my feelings are super-charged.
ctivity - dance, gymnastics, or sports. When I left home and began college I continued to prioritize physical fitness taking kickboxing classes, swimming laps, running and working out. I began practicing yoga in college. I wanted to learn to stand on my head like a friend of mine always did during our study breaks. I learned to stand on my head in my first class but, more importantly, I left the class feeling clearer, calmer, and more alive than ever before. Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, in the particular way that it links the mind, body, and breath, brought me a degree of much needed mental clarity and emotional stability. It presented a path out of severe anxiety and into a life of greater awareness and choice. As my own practice has grown and evolved to meet my needs (from college student to young professional to motherhood), I became more interested in practicing yoga as a means of experiencing greater present moment awareness and cultivating balance in body and mind. Because yoga has had such a transformative effect on my own life, it’s my highest honor to share it with others. My intention is to teach yoga to meet people where they are in their life’s journey. Using yoga asana (postures), breathing techniques, and mindfulness meditation, I help my clients manage stress and reduce tension, create better balance and more comfort in the body, manage emotional highs and lows, and experience greater overall well-being.
