Monroe Elementary School Preparing and inspiring all students to achieve their full potential We are a feeder school for Alcott Middle School and Norman High School.

Monroe Elementary opened in 1963 and was named after James Monroe, the fifth President of the United States. We are located in central Norman and currently serve approximately 435 students in grades Pre-K through 5. We have two administrators, one counselor, 43 staff members, including 32 certified faculty and 12 support staff. In 2013 we celebrated 50 years of learning in a dynamic community wher

e academic excellence is reached in a caring, collaborative, and rigorous school environment. The Monroe learning community is a great place to learn, make friends, and have fun. It is our goal to promote academic and social achievement of every student. We are the home of the Mustangs and demonstrate our Mustang Pride by showing CARES (Cooperation, Awesome Attitude, Respect, Excellence, and Self-Control) in everything we do!

Our 4th and 5th graders had a fun learning experience today! Charyse Maher from Farm Credit Western Oklahoma, a representative for Ag in the Classroom, visited with each grade level. She shared a story and answered students’ questions about farming, agriculture, and how farms help feed us.
We’re thankful for opportunities like this that help our students connect what they learn in the classroom to the world around them
