Summer Camp is off to a fantastic start. This week we solved puzzles, played in the sand and water, drove trucks and cars and patiently waited for the pools to fill.

A big thank you to WildCare Oklahoma for visiting CMS once again. We learned about local wildlife, what animals eat, where they live, and how to help if an animal is injured. Redbud artists are diving into a fun and meaningful project inspired by Pablo Picasso.
Our young creators explored self-portraits using painting markers while observing their reflections in the mirror. This activity encourages self-awareness as children carefully notice the details that make them unique, their hair, eyes, lips, nose, and even tiny features they might not have paid attention to before.
It’s always special to see how much children enjoy both creating and discovering themselves through art. Every portrait tells its own story

Students in Maple Classroom enjoy using sentence starters and the movable alphabet to make and record their own writing. They can then share their work with friends in class.

Maple classroom’s study of Asia includes cultural objects from different countries. Students here are exploring the different nesting possibilities of Russian Matryoshka dolls. The child’s mathematical mind has the opportunity to be used in all areas of a Montessori classroom!
