‘Tis the season: Tips for keeping your home safe during the holiday season, courtesy of OSU Extension - Oklahoma State University As the holiday season approaches — and with it colder weather, extravagantly decorated houses and packed kitchens — Oklahoma State University Extension offers up tips to keep your house standing over the winter months.

As part of an exciting project for the new event center under construction at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds, we’re looking to showcase the rich history of the Cleveland County Fair — and that’s where you come in!

We’re collecting fair photos that are 20 years old or older to help transform the halls of the new center into a visual tribute to our community’s legacy. The older the photo, the better — as long as it’s in decent shape, we’d love to include it.
Photos with kids showing livestock, tractor pulls and more will be useful!
👉 If you have vintage Cleveland County Fair photos, please drop them off at the Fairgrounds Office, 615 E. Robinson Street, during regular office hours, Monday through Friday. We’ll scan them and let you know when they’re ready to be picked up.

Cleveland County OSU Extension is hosting Beyond the Backyard: A Suburban Homestead Conference on February 22nd, 2025 from 11:30am - 4:30pm. The event will take place at The Well (210 James Garner Ave, Norman, OK 73069). Cost is $30, which includes lunch and snacks.
Call us at 405-321-4774 to register! Tentative topics include honey bees, seed starting, perennial food crops, and food preservation.

EXTENSION COLUMN: Dormant season w**d control options exist for many situations We just had snow on the ground recently, but warm weather will be bringing warm season native grasses and bermudagrass out of dormancy soon.
