At Evergreen, we often meet families who know something isn’t working but can’t quite put it into words. The spark is dimmer. School feels like going through the motions instead of real learning.

As a learner-driven community, we do school differently. Students own their learning, set meaningful goals, and build real responsibility while guides coach, challenge, and walk alongside them.

🌎 Little hands, big impact. Today our Spark learners celebrated Earth Day by making a real difference in the Selah community.

They began with a misty Adventure Trash Walk to the vineyards and nearby neighborhood, working together to help clean and care for the spaces around them. Their efforts were meaningful, and our community shines a little brighter because of them.

The celebration ended with each learner planting grass in their own mini “Spark Yards,” a hands-on reminder that growth begins with small seeds and daily care. 🌱

🌍 What happens when a studio becomes a window into the world?

Yesterday, our Sparks stepped into a meaningful Hero’s Journey Talk as two of our learners and their family shared how they stay deeply connected to their Nigerian roots while building a life here in Oklahoma.

From vibrant cultural traditions to the heart behind them, our learners were captivated. They listened to African music, explored the beauty and meaning of Nigerian clothing, and asked thoughtful questions along the way.

To close the experience, the Sparks expressed their gratitude in the most joyful way, by singing an African song they’ve been learning with Ms. Micci. It was a powerful reminder that learning comes alive when it is shared.

Thank you to Jordan and Sam for giving our learners such a rich and memorable experience.
