Today in class, we talked about the Waffle House Index, an unexpected measure of storm damage/severity. It's a fun example of how researchers sometimes have to be creative when measuring complicated things like storm damage, and another good reminder of predictive (vs. causal) relationships. Hi Everyone! Long time no post! :) Hoping to be much more active on this stats page this semester. For all of you who are in my class this semester (or to anyone who just wants to say hello), we will be having Action Centers in the Library Lower Level Learning Lab every Thursday from 2-4. Come visit us--the amazing Zsofia and Izzy are our PLAs this semester, and we have donuts to make stats a little more appetizing! :)
