Truman Elementary Library

We used our Glowforge laser engraver/cutter a couple of months ago to make this puzzle with Oklahoma counties. It has been popular in the Makerspace. Today some of Mrs Schooler’s students worked together and are so proud to show off the completed state.

Remember tomorrow is the last day to bring book character pumpkins to be included in the contest!

Today we hosted Traci Young from the Norman West Public Library. She book talked all 15 books on this year’s Sequoyah list six different times so every kid at Truman Elementary got motivated to read some amazing books. Thanks, Traci!

Gotta read about and represent Taylor when you’re a hardcore Swiftie! The Who Is/Who Was series of biographies is super popular at Truman.

First time in Makerspace and she made a beautiful ring.

NPS Learning Bus will be out for two more days this summer. I LOVE running into students in the “wild.”

5th graders made chariots that they drove with a Sphero. Each class had a double elimination tournament. The winners of each class were:

Abbey: Xavier and Emma
Geist: Ryan and Tim
Goodwin: Jaron and Malachi
Phillips: Kai and Violet
Renteria: Pablo and Layne (shout to Joseph for subbing for Pablo on the day of the school finals)

Then another tournament of the five winners ended with Kai and Violet being the school champs.
