Today we celebrate the hard work, dedication, and behind-the-scenes efforts that help keep campus moving every day. Happy World Facilities Management Day!

Spring planting is underway across campus! 🌸
 
Our landscaping team is currently in the middle of a 4–8 week process, installing a wide variety of flowers in different colors and locations around campus.
 
But what you’re seeing right now actually started long before spring, around 40,000 tulips were planted last fall in preparation for this season. It’s all part of a year-round effort to keep campus looking its best.🌷
 
You may also start to notice a new rose garden taking shape, featuring four different varieties. There’s a lot happening behind the scenes, and spring is one of the busiest times as everything starts to come together. 🌹
 

Attention, Medieval Fair visitors 🏰♻️
 
Facilities Management will have our Recycling Ranger (shown above) on site this weekend at Norman’s annual Medieval Fair, to help collect plastic and aluminum throughout the event!
 
We love getting to be part of moments like this that connect campus and community. 🤍

Happy Earth Month, Sooners! 🌎
 
We’re kicking off April with celebrating our campus community coming together for this year’s Oklahoma Arbor Week tree planting.
 
Facilities Management and the Campus Tree Committee hosted a ceremonial planting on March 27, continuing an amazing tradition that makes a difference in how our campus looks and feels every day.
 
And even better, OU received notice of our continued designation as a Tree Campus with the Arbor Day Foundation, something we’re really proud of! 
 
A great reminder that small things like planting a tree can have a lasting impact. 💚

Our Utilities team is currently tackling a major project, disconnecting steam and water lines and reconnecting systems in a new tunnel to prepare the Cate 3 center for demo. Big work happening behind the scenes to keep campus moving!
