🌟FCCLA Officers attend G.O.L.D. Training🌟

Colquitt County High School’s Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Officers had an amazing time at GOLD Training held at Camp John Hope! GOLD stands for Goal-Oriented Leadership Development, and the officers spent the day building the skills they need to lead, serve, and make a difference in their chapter. ❤️✨

Throughout the day, officers participated in chapter planning, team-building activities, and an Officer Installation Ceremony as they officially began their year of service and leadership. They also enjoyed fellowship with one another and took advantage of the wonderful facilities at Camp John Hope! 🌲☀️

The CCHS Advisers are so proud of this group of student leaders and excited to see all they will accomplish this year! They’re ready to Make Their Mark in FCCLA! 🎨🫟🖌️

Through CTAE and Project Purpose, our students are gaining more than classroom knowledge; they’re gaining real-world experience, building professional relationships, and discovering what their futures can look like.

Our latest story highlights three of our students whose experiences with RM King show the power of Work-Based Learning. From securing a full-time career to developing hands-on skills while still in high school, these students are putting their pathways into action.

During the 2025–2026 school year, 276 students participated in Work-Based Learning and earned more than $1.29 million in wages, with 40 students participating in apprenticeship programs through the state’s Youth Apprenticeship Program.

🎳✨ CCHS FCCLA Bowling Bash & Planning Retreat

On Thursday, July 23rd, CCHS Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America, FCCLA, officers kicked off the new school year with a fun and productive Bowling Bash and Planning Retreat at Strike Zone in Moultrie! ✨

🇺🇸FCCLA National Leadership Conference🇺🇸

What an unforgettable week in Washington, D.C.! ❤️💙🇺🇸

Colquitt County High School FCCLA members Peyton George, Chloe Parks, Sophie Riggs, and Scarlet Sanchez-Presas, along with advisers Paxton Crosby and Darby Sewell, had the incredible opportunity to attend the 2026 FCCLA National Leadership Conference.

Throughout the week, students participated in leadership sessions, connected with FCCLA members from across the nation, and celebrated the impact of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. The conference provided valuable opportunities to strengthen leadership skills, build new friendships, and be inspired by the accomplishments of fellow members from across the country.

A special congratulations goes to Peyton George, who represented Colquitt County High School in the National STAR Events competition in the Teach or Train category. Competing on the national stage is an outstanding accomplishment, and we are incredibly proud of Peyton's hard work, dedication, and professionalism.

Of course, no trip to our nation's capital would be complete without exploring Washington, D.C.! Our group enjoyed a dinner cruise on the historic Potomac River, viewed the city's iconic monuments and memorials through an electric cart tour, and visited several incredible museums, including the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, the International Spy Museum, and the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. In addition, the students cheered on the Washington Nationals at FCCLA Night at the Ballpark and toured the National Smithsonian Zoological Park. These experiences brought history to life and created memories that will last a lifetime.

We are so proud of our students for representing Colquitt County High School, our community, and Georgia FCCLA with excellence. Thank you to everyone who supports our chapter and makes opportunities like this possible. We can't wait to see what this amazing group accomplishes next!

Just because school Is out for summer break doesn’t mean the work ends. These kids are putting in some hard work at the Livestock barn. We currently have 6 calves and 4 goats with more on the way.

A big thank you to Mr. Hughes and the CCHS Carpentry class for building and delivering a new greenhouse to Vereen School. Thank you Dr. Simpson for giving these boys and girls the opportunity to serve.
