EAF's graduate teaching assistant Prince Yohannes used some of his teaching ideas in EAF 228 for a lesson with the Heart of Illinois Big Brothers Big Sisters. Some of those ideas were also shared in his podcast interview with Army Veteran (SSG) Corwin Marbly Jr. THe title of the podcast was: "Leadership Archetype: Unveiling the Villain aka 'The Trailblazer'"

Ever wonder about the impact of EAF's Illinois Center for Specialized Professional Support (ICSPS)? It was captured well here by Illinois State University writer Kevin Bersett in a fun conversation with ICSPS Director Dr. Aime´e Julian - who has steered the unit for over 12 years.

“We create, design, and deliver professional development in the form of webinars, conferences, courses, training, and technical assistance. All of our work centers around access, equity, and transition—supporting the systems in the state in communication, collaboration, and coordination.”

Dr. Aime´e Julian has steered the Illinois Center for Specialized Professional Support (ICSPS) since 2014. Since 1977, the center has helped the K-12 education system support underprivileged and underserved students.

Yesterday the Illinois Center for Specialized Professional Support at Illinois State hosted the Early Childhood Access Consortium for Equity !

ECACE is designed to help attendees strengthen pathways for Illinois' early childhood workforce. The day was led by speakers from the Illinois Community College Board and the Illinois Board of Higher Education, including ICCB Deputy Director Marcus Brown, whose remarks opened the day's events.

The Rural Student Civic Engagement Institute was a SUCCESS! The collaboration focused on providing rural P-12 students, teachers, & school leaders with ideas, tools, and networks for incorporating interesting new options for civic engagement & activism.

The was made possible through partnerships between ROE #17 and other Central IL School Districts, Illinois State's Center for Civic Engagement, Department of Politics and Government(DPG), and the College Student Personnel Administration program. This work was led by EAF's Dr. Marci Rockey and DPG's Dr. Meghan Leonard. Shoutout to our CSPA students who helped out all day, too!
