🚨 Call for Proposals Now Open!

The Alabama A&M University GWEP invites undergraduate students, graduate students, and early-career faculty worldwide to submit proposals for the 2026 Global Research Showcase on Aging and Innovation.

📅 Proposal Deadline: September 20, 2026
🗓 Virtual Showcase: November 13, 2026

We're seeking research and innovative projects related to:

• Alzheimer's disease and dementia
• Robotics and assistive technologies
• AI and aging
• Caregiving and support systems
• Healthy aging and wellness
• Age-friendly communities
• Health equity and aging

Congratulations to Nikki Goins-Hughes, an alumna of AAMU from 2007 (BSW) and 2008 (MSW), on earning the title of Dr. Nikki Goins-Hughes. Dr. Goins-Hughes graduated Friday, May 8th from University of Kentucky's DSW program in Administrative Leadership. Her capstone was titled "Leading on an Uneven Playing Field: How Systems of Race and Gender Shape African American Women’s Leadership Advancement".
