HALO Program Heartland Academy for Learning Opportunities

Since 2009, the Heartland Academy for Learning Opportunities has provided postsecondary opportunities to students ages 18-28 with intellectual, cognitive and developmental disabilities. HALO students build personal and social skills through a balanced learning experience that includes reading, writing, math, and technology. Throughout the month we want to introduce you to the amazing people that make up the Heartland Community College HALO Team. Today meet Jill Warren! Jill joined the HALO teaching staff at the beginning of 2024 and the full-time staff as a coordinator in April 2025. She and her husband David live in LeRoy. They have four children and several animals, including a dog and 12 chickens. When she’s not at school, Jill loves to kayak and paddleboard, as well as read. When she’s at work, she loves to watch her students learn new things and grow in their knowledge. Jill is a shining member of our team!
