Join Department of Chemistry - Illinois State University Distinguished Professor Lisa F. Szczepura for her Distinguished Professor Lecture, “The Many Facets of Metals: Minerals, Bulk Metals, Clusters and Applications,” on October 29 at 5 p.m. in the Bone Student Center.

Dr. Szczepura is an accomplished researcher and educator whose work explores the design of unique metal clusters and their potential applications in areas including imaging, battery materials, and catalysis. She has mentored dozens of undergraduate and graduate students and has earned national recognition for her research and teaching.

Eleven Redbirds spent part of their summer serving families at a preschool in Quito, Ecuador, during an ISU Alternative Breaks trip. Nestled in the cloud forests along the slopes of Pichincha volcano, the group planted a garden, refurbished playground equipment, painted colorful designs throughout the school, and explored some of the city’s breathtaking cultural landmarks. ⛰️ ✈️
