MHS TO HOST LEADERCAST SEMINAR - GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR STUDENT AND BUSINESS LEADERS:
Mundelein High School will host a rebroadcast of the 2015 Leadercast seminar, The Brave Ones, which occurred live in Atlanta in May. Area business leaders and high school/college students in leadership roles are encouraged to participate.
The event will take place Saturday, Sept. 26, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the high school. It will be emceed by Joe Aguilar, sports editor of The Daily Herald, along with MHS staff members Alexander Kapotas and Randy Lerner. Cost of the event, which includes lunch, is $50 per person. The first 40 students to register will only pay $1, which also includes lunch. Teachers will also be able to earn four CPDU credits by attending this event.
To register for the seminar by the Sept. 4 deadline, or to sign up as a sponsor by the Aug. 21 deadline, go to the MHS website at www.d120.org and click on the “RevTrak” link on the home page.
Eleven speakers are included in the rebroadcast which include:
• Peyton Manning – Professional Athlete
• Rudy Giuliani – former New York City Mayor
• Bill and Giuliana Rancic – Television talk show hosts
• Seth Godin – Innovative Thinker/Best-selling Author
• Andy Stanley – Leadership Author and Communicator
• Bill McDermott – CEO of SAP AG
• Commander Rorke Denver – Navy SEAL Commander and Author
• Malala Yousafzai – “Bravest Girl in the World” – CNN/Nobel Laureate
• Ed Catmull – President, Pixar & Walt Disney Animation Studios
• Aja Brown – Mayor, City of Compton
Throughout the day, local business sponsors will have information tables and personnel available. These sponsorships are available at three levels: Bronze Level is $250, Silver is $750 and Gold is $1,250. The different levels determine the location of the tables [Gold having the most desireable], number of free tickets, number of mentions by the emcees during the day and other benefits.
“The Leadercast Seminar rebroadcast will be a great way for those in leadership positions and those who aspire to those positions to hear from nationally-known people who have risen to leadership through hard work and perseverance,” said Kevin Myers, MHS District 120 superintendent. “We welcome area business and student leaders to spend Saturday, Sept. 26 with us to hear from the experts about being a leader. It will be a day filled with inspirational information.”
A five-member committee who have planned this event include area business leaders Mario Feijoo and Luis Fuentes, Superintendent Kevin Myers, Executive Assistant to the Superintendent Ana Ortiz and Public Information Officer Ron Girard.
