While the last few days of summer wrap up at home, things have been pretty busy around Mulberry.

Our teachers have been getting classrooms ready, labeling cubbies, organizing materials, planning lessons, and putting all those little details in place for a brand new year.

And we know we’re not the only ones getting ready.

Because while we’re preparing the classrooms, our families are preparing at home, too. New classrooms. New teachers. New routines. Maybe even a few big transitions.

Not just for our little Meerkats, but for their parents too.

There’s always a little bit of excitement, a little bit of nervousness, and a whole lot of anticipation that comes with a new school year.

At Mulberry it’s a community effort to make sure everyone is supported, as we all switch into school mode.

If you've been around Mulberry, you already know there's a good chance you've heard Ms. Amy's music cart before you've seen her! This year, we're excited to celebrate Ms. Amy in her newest role as Academic Coordinator, while she continues bringing joy as our Music Teacher and Mini Meerkats extraordinaire.

After teaching in public schools for 10 years, Ms. Amy joined Mulberry in 2022 to teach music, added Mini Meerkats the following year, and has been helping our youngest learners discover confidence, creativity, and the joy of learning ever since.

Whether she's greeting little ones with the Hello Song, helping students compose their own music, or introducing toddlers to their very first classroom experiences, Ms. Amy creates spaces where children can be themselves, take risks, and shine. Her classrooms are exactly what you'd expect: noisy, active, and joyful! 🎵🌈

We're so grateful for all the ways Ms. Amy helps our students, families, and teachers grow. Here's to another amazing year of music, laughter, learning, and a little Mulberry magic!

We're so excited to welcome Ms. Jess back for her second year as a Teaching Assistant and Substitute Teacher at Mulberry!

Before joining our teaching team, Ms. Jess was a Mulberry parent, watching both of her children learn, grow, and thrive here. That experience sparked her love for our community, and now she enjoys building relationships with students across every classroom, making each child feel seen, supported, and cared for.

When she's not at Mulberry, you'll find her traveling with her family, tending to her impressive collection of houseplants, crocheting, knitting, reading, or caring for her many furry (and scaly!) pets.

We're so lucky to have Ms. Jess as part of our Mulberry family, and we can't wait for another amazing school year together!

As we prepare for a new school year, we also pause to celebrate two incredible members of the Mulberry family.

Ms. Shawna, thank you for 10 years of dedicated service to Mulberry. From serving as our Office Administrator to leading our school as Executive Director, your heart, leadership, and commitment have helped shape our community in countless ways.

Ms. Tycee, thank you for the kindness, warmth, and care you brought to our front office. Your welcoming smile and willingness to help made a difference for every child, family, and staff member who walked through our doors.

While we're sad to see you both go, we're incredibly grateful for everything you've given to Mulberry. Your impact will be felt for years to come, and you'll always be a cherished part of our story.

We're so excited to have Ms. Diana back for her second year at Mulberry, where she brings creativity, culture, and connection to life through Art and Spanish! 🌎🎨

With a background in Early Childhood Education, years of teaching Kindergarten in Mexico, and a passion for helping children explore the world through language and art, Ms. Diana creates joyful, hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and confidence. From glow-in-the-dark painting and collaborative murals to Spanish songs, games, and cultural celebrations, every class is filled with creativity, movement, and discovery.

Ms. Diana believes every child should feel safe, valued, and celebrated for exactly who they are—and that's exactly what families can expect in her classroom. We are so grateful for the joy, kindness, and inspiration she brings to our Mulberry community!

We're thrilled to welcome Ms. Renee to the Mulberry family for her first year! With 15 years of teaching experience in California—including music, 2nd grade, Kindergarten, and Transitional Kindergarten—she brings a wealth of knowledge, creativity, and enthusiasm to our Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten classrooms.

Ms. Renee believes the best learning happens through play, which made Mulberry feel like the perfect fit. Her classroom is engaging, welcoming, and encouraging, where students are celebrated for their unique strengths and inspired to try new things every day.

From "Jobs & Choices" play-based learning to exciting units like The Gingerbread Man, Ms. Renee is passionate about helping children grow in confidence, kindness, and curiosity. We know our students are going to love learning with her!

We're so excited to welcome Ms. Beverly to the Mulberry family for her first year teaching our 5-day Pre-K class!

After seven years in the classroom and nine years at home raising her two daughters, she's thrilled to be back doing what she loves—helping young learners grow in confidence and discover the joy of learning.

Ms. Beverly's classroom is yellow, calm, and happy—a true home away from home where every child is safe, loved, and valued. From animated story times and hands-on science to gardening, beekeeping, and even growing "grass heads" that need haircuts, every day is filled with curiosity, laughter, and wonder.

With a classroom theme song of "Happy" by Pharrell Williams, you can bet there's plenty of music, dancing, and smiling happening in Room Ms. Beverly! We can't wait to see the incredible year ahead.

Mulberry just wouldn't be Mulberry without Ms. Colette! For more than 25 years, she has been filling our preschool classrooms with laughter, creativity, and so much love.

If you've ever been one of her "Groovy Cats," you know her Pete the Cat classroom is a place where every child is celebrated. From Star of the Week to thoughtful keepsake crafts that families treasure for years, Ms. Colette has a special way of making every student feel seen, valued, and proud of their accomplishments.

Her kindness, creativity, and joyful spirit have touched generations of Mulberry families, and we're so grateful she's been part of our community for decades. Here's to another groovy year with Ms. Colette as our 3- half day preschool teacher!
