On September 23, 2025, Alexis Marie Parrish was awarded a scholarship among 4 other scholars through The Green Gift! 🪴💚.

We are soooo happy she was able to be apart of the FIRST group of graduate students to get awarded this scholarship for her research goal initiatives towards sustainability 🥰.

We are super proud of her and the two gentlemen who made it all possible!

She's going to keep thriving and growing!! ✨

Students from the Food Service Operations II and Science of Food Preparation courses proudly presented a mouthwatering spread for the inaugural Ag Week 2024 event. The menu featured a variety of fresh vegetables, fruits, barbecue and spicy chicken wings, and barbecue-flavored meatballs. Special recognition goes to Curtis Cortez, Cornelius Green, Aakiyah Head, Joi Brumby, Andreanna Gross (graduate student), AArrell Perkins, Madison Williams, Nya Hobson, Ziya Witten, Kalen Johnson, and Kimberly Moore for their exceptional effort and dedication. Under the expert guidance of Dr. Kristen M. Campbell, these students displayed their impressive culinary talents. Congratulations on a job well done!

On June 26, 2024, the students from Girls Inc. explored the Apparel, Merchandising, and Design area. During their visit, they enjoyed drawing fashion illustrations, learning basic sewing stitches, and crafting mini pillows. The delight on their faces upon seeing their finished creations was truly priceless.

Our very own, Dr. Brittannie Chester was delighted to be awarded Alabama’s Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year by the Alabama Dietetics Association! 💜 She said being a dietitian brings immense satisfaction, whether through running my private practice or mentoring aspiring dietitians. Grateful to for this meaningful honor!

The students had a fantastic time at the annual meeting, reconnecting with fellow dietitians, advocating for our profession, and inspiring future dietitians at the Alabama Dietetics Students session.

We are excited for more fruitful sessions with ALDA! Alabama Dietetic Association (ALDA) Members 🌱

The Foodservice Operations class gave a diabetes informational to the clients at the Legacy Center (Johnson Towers).
