Around here we think the best way to understand the impact of our program is to hear from the students themselves.

For Transformation Thursday, we'd like to introduce you to Numa. He recently completed Nussbaum Trucking Academy at HCC with the support of WEI.

Here is his story:
"I was looking for a second act and found a path forward through the Workforce Empowerment Initiative at Heartland. I earned my CDL in 4 weeks and ended up in the driver's seat of a G&D truck."

We're so proud of Numa for seizing this opportunity and putting in the work to change his career path.

If you're ready for a career transformation, let us help you. Check out that link below to learn more about all of programs.

Today our team divided and conquered!

While most stayed back to host the Employer Connect on campus our Director repped us out in the community at the Center for Human Services Recovery Fair.

From local employers to community partners, our team is dedicated to building bridges.

When we work together across campus and in the community, we unlock real opportunities to help our students thrive! 💙💛

Our WEI Fall Employer Connect Breakfast comes to an end yet in so many ways it's only the beginning!!

We are SO proud of our team for their incredible hard work and effort, and deeply grateful to the employers who partner with us to turn student pathways into real-world career opportunities.

Together, we are bridging the gap between education and industry! 🤝✨ Quite Frankly - Nothing compares to that!!!

Keep making WEI at Heartland Community College proud of you, Cam!

Meet HCC student Cam Tolbert! 💙

Cam is studying electric vehicles and stays involved on campus through EV Club, BSU, NAMI and Chess Club. One of the highlights of his Heartland experience was spending two weeks studying sustainable and renewable energy in France, an opportunity that made a lasting impact on him.

After Heartland, Cam hopes to become a technician in electric vehicles or energy storage. Inspired by his dad and the lessons and memories they shared, he continues to push toward his goals. Outside of school, Cam trains in Jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai and produces music!

We caught up with another WEI scholar during the Involvement Fair! Marilynn earned her CNA certification through WEI. She's also taking the next step into the Nursing Program here at Heartland Community College!

🎉 Congratulations, Madilynn!! We are incredibly proud of YOU!🥳

Nothing makes us happier than seeing our WEI scholars continue to level up. Check out this quick message from a former WEI CNA student who just started the Heartland Nursing program!

Thinking about taking the leap? Take her advice: give it a try!
