EAST at Norfork

We obtained an old disk from the Art department’s closet that contained a large
amount of pictures including Norfork and surrounding areas such as Mountain Home, Cotter, and Calico Rock. Students organized all of these photos into folders and selected relevant ones for the Baxter County Historical & Genealogical Society, Inc. upcoming Spring/Summer exhibit featuring Norfork. We spent a couple days setting it up. This project addresses the real-world problem of local heritage being lost or forgotten, and was a collaboration between EAST, the Art department, and the museum.

Norfork EAST students helped create a display on the history of Norfork for the newly opened Baxter County Museum in Mountain Home!

Check out this promo video that Hope Meinzer (a marketing student) created for the Baxter County Museum! If you find yourself in Mountain Home, stop by the museum on Bomber Boulevard before 2:00 to check out the open house today! Our EAST students helped with creating the new Norfork exhibit!

The Historical Museum at 300 Bomber Boulevard is open on Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Come learn about Baxter County history this Saturday & see what Norfork EAST had the opportunity to work on for our town of Norfork!
The museum will be open 10am-2pm! Free burgers 🍔 & hot dogs 🌭 11am-1pm

Sonny Sharp invites the public to the Spring Open House at the Baxter County Historical Society Saturday, April 18th! There will be free hot dogs, hamburgers, drawings for prizes, and big news, too!

Come out and see the new Norfork exhibit our EAST students worked on! The entire museum will be open with other history in our area besides just Norfork. We had a fun time together with this project while learning some interesting history about our county. Thank you, Baxter County Historical & Genealogical Society, Inc. for allowing us to come have a part!

We had a great time together yesterday evening after setting the booth up! Thankful for the local businesses that provided a discount for EAST students to have some extra fun while in Hot Springs! We’re already planning for next year while being here and we can’t wait to grow!

Thank you, Huber Media Co, for opening up your space for our EAST and Marketing students to learn in! We had some students that left with more confidence in using software that they were intimidated to look at before. We appreciate the time you took to host us for learning outside of the classroom and the opportunity to see what goes into creating your awesome work!

Derek Huber and Skyler Fox of Huber Media Co. showed a variety of camera setups and a mock interview. They provided students with hands-on experience with siders, mirrorless cameras, stabilizers, and more. They provided a 2-day experience with the first day focusing on hardware, business, and advertising, and the second day focusing on drones with an intro to Premiere Pro.
