Come out, connect, and give back!
Join the ODU School of Public Service Alumni Chapter for a fun and meaningful evening at Wasserhund Brewery’s new Granby Street location. We’re raising funds for the ODU MPA School of Public Service Alumni Scholarship, which helps remove financial barriers for students and supports the next generation of public service leaders.
Even better—Wasserhund Brewing Co. will donate 25% of taproom revenue during the event, so your visit makes a direct impact. So bring a friend, grab a drink, and support a great cause!
Be sure to RSVP by May 25 using this registration link: https://www.odualumni.org/s/1672/bp20/interior.aspx?sid=1672&pgid=6006&gid=2&cid=10352&ecid=10352&post_id=0

Public service drives change—but meaningful change isn’t always easy.
In recognition of Public Service Recognition Week, join ASPA – Central Virginia Chapter for a timely discussion with Pete Atkinson, doctoral student and Principal Space Advisor with the Department of the Army. He’ll explore how change agents navigate bureaucratic politics and institutional resistance to lead large-scale transformation within highly hierarchical organizations.
Whether you're a student, practitioner, or simply curious about how real change happens in complex systems, this conversation offers valuable insight and perspective.
See the flyer for full event details and registration information.

Monarch Strong is who we are and who we have always been. The outpouring of support we have received embodies the best of our community. We are fortunate and appreciative for the countless alumni, friends, businesses, organizations and neighbors who have asked us how they can support our students. Together, you have opened your doors and your hearts to us, and we are tremendously grateful.
This is another way in which you can express care and solidarity. Monarch Strong merchandise will direct all net proceeds from officially licensed sales to the Old Dominion University Army ROTC Program Fund. Join us as we pay tribute to Lt. Col. Brandon A. Shah (B.S.’07), recognize those who were injured, honor the warriors who saved lives on that day and support those who were impacted by this horrific tragedy.
We will get through this together.
We are Monarch Strong.

The past two days have been heartbreaking as our Monarch Nation lost one of our own, Lt. Col. Brandon Shah, and two students were injured due to senseless violence.
As we grieve together and support our fellow Monarchs, we are and forever will be Monarch Strong.
