Sometimes you find yourself part of an event that hits just right. This past Sunday I helped organize Depth - A Natural Wine & Solidarity Fair held at Assembly Norfolk.
Depth is the large fundraiser for the Hampton Roads Reproductive Justice League (HRRJL.) And yes, if you're thinking that sounds like a bunch of do-good heroes, you'd be correct!
I had time to snap only a few photos of quiet, special moments that I think create lasting memories of the day.
Follow , get involved; We are always so much stronger when working together.

At Depth, we use a variety of washed and polished secondhand glasses for our natural wine tastings from which our attendees can choose. Not only does this practice support our belief in environmental sustainability, it also represents our strong belief in CHOICE. This gesture symbolizes our belief that we all have the right to CHOOSE, whether it be from glassware, what we drink, or what we do with our bodies & repro health 💕
Secure your glass today by buying a ticket at the link in our bio! Every sale goes to support your local abortion fund ✨
In the wine industry? Tickets are just $25
Not in the wine industry? Tickets are just $65 - $20 of the ticket price is tax-deductible

Depth is a natural wine & solidarity fair and fundraiser for our local abortion fund, the Hampton Roads Reproductive Justice League HRRJL on Sunday, August 10, 2025!
We created Depth as a casual & fun ticketed experience bridging two social movements—reproductive justice & natural wine.
We’ll be sipping wine and chatting with producers and importers from our region & the world on the beautiful roof deck of Assembly Norfolk!
We’ll also be hosting community convos and community building activities, so you can join and help us build the ecosystem of reproductive justice & natural wine in Southeastern VA!
Depth operates on a sliding scale to provide accessibility. All ticket sales will serve as a donation to HRRJL, with the exception of the cost for the event itself. If you’re industry or not able to cover the full cost, we’re excited for you to join us! If you’re able to help cover the cost of another person’s ticket & build solidarity, please do!
The entirety of the event is volunteer-led, organized, and run.

We created Depth as a casual & fun ticketed experience bridging two social movements—reproductive justice & natural wine. We chose these movements to highlight the solidarity we find in the ecosystems within cross movement building.
We’ll be sipping wine and chatting with producers and importers from our region & the world on the beautiful roof deck of and discussing how these movements intersect, how to build grassroots change, and where we can go when we build strong coalitions of care and camaraderie.

About Terra di Siena
For over 120 years, the Gambassis have continued their family tradition of producing homemade cured products based on the oldest recipes handed down from father to son. Our main goal is to bring to your table the ancient flavor of the past, preserved over time thanks to the homemade work of our salumieri. Genuine control and absolute respect are essential to produce our traditional products. A very strict quality control makes the perfect relationship between the flavors of the past and the knowledge of today. Since he was a child Filippo Gambassi, the fifth generation of the Gambassi family, learned from his father Giulio the secrets of this art and still now he works to keep this knowledge intact with full respect and dedication in order to preserve the artisan tradition of Terra di Siena using the same method of producing cured meats both in Italy and in the States.
Americans frequently come into my Italian shops and ask, "How can we get your products in the United States?" My answer is not to export our products, but to produce our Italian cured meats in the US with the true perfume and taste of this family traditional story. That’s how the dream began and how the Terra di Siena USA Project started.
So, why in Virginia? Virginia, a birthplace of American culture, is similar to Tuscany in several ways. Virginians, like Tuscans, appreciate quality, natural products, and the respect for tradition. Both regions are similar in microclimates and landscape to create organically grown products, which is very important for our health. Filippo has developed a production warehouse in Virginia that complies with USDA sanitary standards, but follows the original meat making process based only on simple organic ingredients and slow natural aging.
