We would like all Northeast students to have their applications in by November 15th so that Vice President Amanda Nipp has time to review and work on those applications with you. 1. The Phi Theta Kappa convened at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 in the College Welcome Center.
2. Induction ceremony went well. Thank you, officers, for stepping up and helping make this day a success. If you were unable to attend and would like your chapter certificate, let Colleen know.
3. Fundraiser - Chili and Cinnamon Rolls Volleyball and Split the Pot – Thank you officers and members that helped out. We were able to raise $320.95

Students who are graduating may borrow a stole for the ceremony. On commencement day, graduation stoles may be picked up in the College Welcome Center, room 1108B. If you wish to pick up the stole beforehand, please contact Colleen Barnes at [email protected] to set up a time.

Immediately after the ceremony, stoles should be returned to the Phi Theta Kappa advisors in the College Welcome Center, room 1108B. If the stole is not returned, the student's account will be billed through the Northeast Students Accounts Department.

PTK recognizes Northeast graduate as a 2020 New Century Workforce Pathway Scholar
JACKSON, Miss. – A Northeast Community College graduate has been recognized for past excellence in and out of the classroom.
Tait Ziems and 47 others from across the nation were named 2020 New Century Workforce Pathway Scholars by the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society earlier this year. They were formally recognized during the annual Association of Community College Trustees’ Congress in October. The Congress was held virtually this year.
Ziems, of Plainview, graduated with an associate of applied science degree in automotive technology in May 2020. In addition to being named a New Century Workforce Pathway Scholar, he receives a $1,250 scholarship.
