Our Story at Lighthouse Christian Academy

Thank you for considering Lighthouse Christian Academy, for your child in helping to fulfill his/her spiritual and educational needs. In the summer of 2011 the name, Azalea Garden Christian School, became Lighthouse Christian Academy due to requirements in the process of our satellite congregation organizing and purchasing the property we have used for the past forty five years.

Having served in education for over forty years we know the challenges of teaching in a diverse society and meeting the individual needs of students. Individualized programs are a must and that is exactly what we offer. When first enrolled, children take a diagnostic test to determine their strengths and weaknesses and to discover any learning gaps. From that point we will guide your child through the required subjects making sure they master the material as they progress.

We know that the most important part of education is learning that "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom". Respecting God and obeying Him will lead to our "studying to show ourselves approved unto God." We teach that education is a privilege. We must follow the example of Jesus as stated in Luke 2:52, "And Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man." We must continue to grow and study to be like Him.

We offer the A Beka curriculum in preschool through first grade. A Bible based, strong phonics, and character building curriculum that will mold your child into a well-rounded student. your child will be exposed to Bible, Language, Science, Art, Music, Health and Safety, and playtime which helps their socialization and motor skills development. The Accelerated Christian Education curriculum, in grades two through twelve, has been used in our school since 1977.

We are constantly evolving as educational needs change. We have found that this curriculum meets the needs of most individuals and grows with us to meet our particular needs.

Our Vision is to develop strong spiritual leaders leaders that know how to integrate the their faith into the world around them. Daily devotions and chapel are part of the norm for LCA. Students are given the opportunity to meet and help support missionaries, charities, to be a part of community service, use their talents outside of the LCA campus and to be part of the ministry that happens right here at the Academy.

The School day for the extended care and Pre-School begins at 6:30 am. Pre-School classes begins the day at 9:00 am with devotions. The rest of LCA begins with devotions at 8:30 am. Dismissal is at 3:00 pm. Extended care continues until 6:00 pm. We also offer Summer Camp from the last day of school until the first day of school.

Band was added to the list of extras in 2012. We offer classes in Tae Kwon Do, Drama and Keyboard. The events that feature the students using their talents in music, art, dance and drama have become an intricate part of our school year.

Families that are interested in following the mandates of God's Word and are in agreement with our school policy of training children in "the way they should go" (Prov. 22:6) are encouraged to enroll in our school.
