Hello all!
I wanted to let you know that we won’t have a GEM meeting this Saturday because it is the same day as TIES (Transgender Information and Empowerment Seminar) in Richmond.

It is free! I have gone before and highly recommend it! You get to meet lots of cool people, and there are some very informative sessions throughout the day.

If you need a ride, there is a van going up, and last I heard there were still some seats open. Call the LGBT Life Center if you’re interested in catching a ride. The next GEM meeting will be Saturday, November 2nd.

TAPVA is a community voice at The 5th annual TIES. It is less than a month away and don’t forget, this year it’s at a new location! TIES brings transgender individuals, families, and allies alike together to strengthen the transgender community across Virginia. It’s free to attend, but registration is required. Don’t miss out! Do yall know about TIES coming up? The event holds workshops and legal clinics to help people with name change applications. It's a great event!

Every October, transgender and gender nonconforming folks are joined by friends, family, and allies for TIES. At the 2017 TIES conference, we welcomed more than 250 individuals identifying as trans or gender nonconforming who participated in day’s programs alongside over 100 allies.
