The Tidewater Community College Chorus is a mixed voice choral ensemble open to all TCC students and community singers, ages 18 to 80+, without audition or other prerequisite requirement. We present concerts at the end of each semester in the TCC Jeanne & George Roper Performing Arts Center on the TCC Norfolk campus and at other locations as we are invited. The TCC Chorus as it currently exists began fall semester of 2002 on the TCC Portsmouth campus. We moved along with the music program to the TCC Norfolk campus fall semester of 2009.

Here's your (not so) totally useless facts of the day:

Most people stop listening to new music at age 33. A 2015 Spotify study found that overall listening time doesn’t drop as we age — we simply replace current music trends with replaying what we already know.

Why Taste Freezes at Age 33

Nostalgia & Formative Years:
Listeners regularly drift back to the music that was popular when they were coming of age (roughly ages 13 to 22).
Genre Diversification: Adults tend to branch out into specific, less-mainstream genres (like jazz, classical, or indie) rather than following the Top 40.
Life Events: Responsibilities like work and parenting accelerate this shift; data shows having children ages a person's "music relevancy" by about four years.
