Our Journey!

Mrs. Blackmon became an “Infant Toddler Specialist” upon earning her Child Development Associate Credential in Infant/Toddlers from the Council for Professional Recognition, 3 years later she earned a Child Development Associate Credential in Family Childcare, obtained a Certificate in Child Psychology. Her lifetime passion has been working with young children. In 2005 she was hired at Kings Grant Day School & Academy as a Toddler Teacher. Over the past 15 years she has held numerous positions ranging from Teacher Assistant, Team Lead, Assistant Director, Navy Program Assistant. After enjoying 10 years employed at Family Day Homes and various Childcare Centers stateside/overseas, she began her journey into business ownership. In 2015 she opened her first Licensed/Accredited Family Day Home in San Diego, CA where she operated until 2017. Upon Permanent Change of Duty Station Mrs. Blackmon relocated to Virginia where she and her husband reside. As, a military spouse and aunt to 2 amazing teenagers she understands how challenging transitions can be and enjoys every minute shes able to make a difference in a families life. On her off time she enjoys putting together educational material for the students enrolled to complete with their families. She also loves to collect anything that has flamingos, scented candles, and shopping at Target.
