Today, we had the pleasure of presenting Book Awards to four outstanding Young Eagles from the Hampton Roads area! 🦅📚
This marks the kickoff of our First Annual Colon & E. Jeanie Oliver Book Award, and our Second Annual student send-off celebration supporting local students as they begin their journey at North Carolina Central University.
A heartfelt thank you to all of our chapter members for your generous donations, fundraising, and continued support. We also thank our newest Eagles and their families for fellowshipping with us today as we officially welcome them into the Eagle family & nest!!
Together, we will continue our alma mater’s legacy of Truth and Service and look forward to growing this Book Award each year so we can impact even more students.

2026 NCCU Alumni Weekend and Awards Banquet

Last weekend, we had the honor of attending the NCCU Alumni Awards Banquet at the DoubleTree in Durham, North Carolina.
What an incredible weekend! We proudly nominated three of our chapter members for various awards, and we were thrilled to bring home the Volunteer of the Year Award (Kishka Gooden)!
We enjoyed fellowshipping with Eagles from across the nation throughout the Alumni Association weekend and were inspired by the outstanding work alumni chapters are doing in their communities. Hearing about the impact being made nationwide truly speaks to our mission of Truth & Service!
A heartfelt thank you to the National Alumni Association for hosting such an outstanding event. Congratulations to all of the award recipients and nominees—we are proud to be part of such a remarkable Eagle family.

The Inaugural MEAC Foundation Sneaker Ball 2026 brought together alumni, student-athletes, corporate partners, and supporters of the MEAC and its Elite Eight member institutions for an evening celebrating HBCU excellence while advancing the Foundation's mission.
It was a night of celebration as the foundation presented the Talmadge Layman Hill and Mary McLeod Bethune All-Sports awards to the men's and women's top programs and awarded the Highest Graduation Success Rate and Academic Performance Rate honors.
NCCU took home the Academic Performance Rate Award which included a $10,000 check to support scholarships and resources for student-athletes. 🦅
