Eastern Officials Association Baseball Umpires

09/21/2026

Congratulations to tonight’s award winners at the EOA banquet.

Mike Fencil and Mike Brewer (not pictured) were named as Lifetime Members due to their 25+ years with EOA that included multiple years on the baseball committee and assistance with training our umpires over the years. Both are also previous winners of the Bob Hood Award

Cullen Boykin was tonight’s winner of our Bob Hood Umpire of the Year award. Cullen is outstanding on and off the field. He’s a guy everyone wants in a big game but also has just as great of an attitude working 10u on a Sunday.

Congratulations to these 3 guys!!

I’m very grateful to the EOA umpires giving me another 2 years to serve them tonight. Our mission is to train and be the best we can be so that we can provide the best possible experience for the kids who play baseball in Hampton Roads.

Umpiring is the only profession where you’re expected to start out perfect and get better but we get to work with some pretty great baseball people in this area who understand the game and are there for the kids.

If you ever think of joining us in the future, just know you’d be joining a great group of guys but we do require you to buy into this and find the love of the game through umpiring.

I am personally excited to get to continue my relationships with each of you who we work with in this area. Nobody trains like us. Nobody prepares like us. Nobody cares like us. EOA is a special group and we are thankful when those outside of us see it too.

We are hoping to make a push to fill up our golf tournament at Sleepy Hole on October 5th. The tournament benefits UMPS CARE Charities which helps children in hospitals. It’s a great cause and the tournament will be a great time for umpires, coaches, players, or anyone who wants to join us and help raise money for kids.

Join the fun by clicking the link below. Options available for singles and discounts for groups!
