We are excited to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the Joint Forces Staff College on 13–14 August 2026!

The celebration will include an Opening Ceremony, Joint Foundations Panel, dedication of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Command Suite, International Hall of Fame Panel, Anniversary Reception, Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, and a JFSC Picnic.

JFSC’s story began at the end of World War II, when General Dwight D. Eisenhower and Admiral Chester W. Nimitz recognized that the hard-earned lessons of joint warfare had to be preserved for future generations. Established in Norfolk in 1946 as the Armed Forces Staff College, the College has carried that purpose forward for eight decades.

80 years of joint excellence — rooted in strength, united in purpose, and forging the future.

🎉 Today we celebrate the 388th Birthday of the National Guard! 🇺🇸

Since 1636, the National Guard has stood as a symbol of dedication, resilience, and service. From protecting our communities during natural disasters to serving alongside active-duty forces in times of conflict, the Guard embodies the true spirit of citizen-soldiers.

Let’s take a moment to honor the men and women who have answered the call to serve both their state and nation. Your sacrifice and commitment inspire us all.

Today was filled with laughter, camaraderie, and plenty of holiday spirit. From the festive decorations to the delicious food and lively music, the event was truly a celebration to remember. 🎶🍽️

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to join the festivities, and especially to those who helped organize and make it all happen. Your hard work and dedication brought the holiday cheer to life!

Today, we had the privilege of welcoming Robert G. Catalanotti, a retired Major General and former Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs, to the Joint Forces Staff College. He shared invaluable mentorship and wisdom with our graduating students, drawing from nearly 35 years of distinguished military service and a remarkable career in leadership.

Thank you, Major General Catalanotti, for inspiring our graduates today as they prepare to take on new challenges and continue serving with excellence. Your legacy of leadership and mentorship will leave a lasting impact.
