Katie's Background: A decade of math expertise in the public sect. She has been tutoring for eight years in multi-leveled math and science, along with college level courses. Katie took the Tidewater Writing Project Course at ODU and then developed Professional Development with them and has a close partnership still. Katie embeds writing and vocabulary daily within her math courses with her students. She has been grade level chair for numerous years and facilitates and participate in the Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies (PBIS) program on the district level. She is a advocate for her Individualized Education Plan (IEP) students and is an effective inclusion teacher as well. She has a gregarious personality that gravitates her student learners to her. She is awesome at test prep strategies and has trained many students and prepared them for SAT and ACT, along with college entrance applications. Furthermore, she has helped quite a few adults prepare for the Shipyard Apprentice Test, ASVAB, and NCLEX. She is a talented, effective teacher!
