www.CasualGourmet.com - Casual Gourmet classes are recreational cooking classes offered by Culinary Institute of Virginia, the School of Culinary Arts of ECPI University. These classes are intended for participants of all skill level and are centered around "learning by doing."

•All Casual Gourmet classes are taught by industry seasoned chefs.
•Casual Gourmet classes range in length between 1 and 3 sessions. Each session is 3 hours long.
•Pre-registration is required and must occur at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled class start time. Spaces are limited, so book early.
•Cancellations must call at least 3 days in advance of class start time.

CIV’s Casual Gourmet classes, established in 2009, are held regularly on Fridays and Saturdays at the Newport News and Norfolk locations and are designed for a wide variety of skill levels from novice to seasoned home chef.

“If you are someone who has never held a knife before, you’ll find something you love in these classes,” Chef Mary Cook assures, “and if you are more experienced, I can give you a few tips and tricks you may never have thought of.”

Classes scheduled for January and February include Cooking Fundamentals, Incorporating Super Foods into Your Diet, Valentine’s Date Night and Global Gourmet – Italian.
