Christopher Ndiritu is a sophomore majoring in Public Health administration. He’s been with SGA for two years now serving as both a Senator and now Director. Currently serving as the Director of Academics and all 300+ Student Organizations here at ODU, with the goal to use his passion for helping the retention rate/academics at ODU improve as well as working closely with Student Organizations. de from his involvement with SGA, he also serves as a Resident Assistant in Rogers Main & Nusbaum through Housing & Residence Life, Mace and Crown photographer, and a member of Young Life. With strong knowledge of SGA, knowledge of the policies within Old Dominion, and passion acquired throughout two years here at ODU, Christopher would make a good candidate for your consideration as the 2014-2015 Student Body President. In just this year alone, he has already worked to limit the amount TBA courses in our semester curriculums, required syllabi be posted 72 hours prior to class, placing printers in all Residence Halls, and revamping the end of the year surveys with school administrators. Being your next Student Body President would mean the issues you the students continue to face will be a thing of the past such as the rise in safety concerns, housing selection process, starting conversation with the improvement of campus dining, and more. Carina Wicker is a sophomore here at Old Dominion and has served two years in the Student Government Association. First serving as Senator and chair of the Legislative and Diversity Affairs committee, she now serves as the Director of Legislative and Diversity Affairs. Working with organizations like The Office of Intercultural Relations, NAACP, and ODU OUT to ensure that the divers community at our campus is represented and presented. She was founder of the “102 Campaign” to personify the 102 countries represented here at ODU, served as the ODU representative of both Rock the Vote and Virginia 21. In Virginia 21, she has lobbied at the General Assembly as the voice of our generation on the importance of financial aid. Outside of Student Government, Carina serves as a Resident Assistant at Scotland House and work as a volunteer for Colleges Against Cancer. If chosen as Vice President, Carina will serve as your connection to the Student Government Association. She will ensure that committee directors are working in your favor, this includes the committees that cover major issues like public safety, housing, and food. “Old Dominion is a beautiful campus with a strong sense of diversity. I want to exploit that diversity so that those ideas are not just heard, but executed.”

SGA ELECTIONS!!

The annual SGA Elections will be held tomorrow 8am (Tuesday 3/14) – 5pm Wednesday (3/15). Two candidates running for this year’s elections is Christopher Ndiritu, Current Student Body President & Vice-President, Current Student Body Vice-President.

Chris Ndiritu’s Experience:
- 3 Years in Student Government (Senator, Director, President)
- Serves on Gov. McAuliffe’s Task Force to Combat Campus Sexual Assault
- SGA Exec. Board member of the Month & Year 2014
- Recognized as one of SGA’s Top Senators 2013

Carina Wicker’s Experience:
- 3 Years in Student Government (Senator, Director, Vice-President).
- Recognized as one of SGA’s Top Senators 2013
- SGA Exec. Board member of the Month 2014
- Certified with Diversity Institute

2014-2015 Accomplishments:
- Provided substantial amount of resources, programs, events for Off-Campus Safety
- Increasing transparency between ODU Administration and Students
- Currently installing printers in all Residence Halls
- Added 200+ new bike racks & 2 new ‘Bike-fix-it-Station’
- Created an off-campus safety ad hoc to voice our opinions
- Strengthened relationships between Greek Life & SGA
- Increased Pride on campus (Tickets to NY Game, Pride Patrol, Spirit Friday Promotion)
- Currently implementing ODU Reverse Monarch Loop

Throughout the end of our term this semester, we hope to continue to do great work. As we look forward to the next year we hope to earn your vote in this year’s elections. We have accomplished so much during our 3 years in SGA and we look forward to continually improving ODU!

Chris and Carina have done a lot to make ODU bigger and brighter. Together they have added additional bike racks on campus and co-sponsored events with different organizations on campus.

Our is none other than our current SGA President Chris Ndiritu. Before serving at President Chris was very involved in SGA. He was Senator for 1 year and Director of Academics and Student Organization.
