Congratulations to Mrs. Sarah Yashaahla, Azalea Gardens Middle School’s 2026-2027 Teacher of the Year. As a dedicated math teacher and math department chair, Mrs. Yashaahla exemplifies instructional excellence, strong leadership, and an unwavering commitment to student achievement. Her passion for mathematics and collaborative approach continue to strengthen teaching and learning across our school community. We proudly celebrate her many contributions to Azalea Gardens Middle School and commend her on being named a 2027 Teacher of the year finalist for Norfolk Public Schools. This recognition is well deserved.👏

Azalea Gardens Middle Spirit Week is in full swing! Students and Staff can show their school spirit all week!

Azalea Gardens Middle School is hosting a Community Yard Sale!

Where: 7721 Azalea Garden Road
When: Saturday, October 18, 2025
Time: 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Why (Purpose): School fundraiser, community building, and access to affordable goods.

Do you have stuff to sell? Rent a table!
How: Option 1: Rent a table, including one chair per table (single table $20 or double table $25).
Option 2: Rent a space/Bring your own table (renters are responsible for setting up their table; tables must be no longer than 8 feet in length).

Please Note:
1. This event is rain or shine. If it rains, the event will move to the school’s hallways.
2. Space reservations must be made by Friday, October 10.

Visit the school’s website to reserve your spot using the Google form and make your cash-only payment within 3 days in the main office. (Any reservations made without cash payment within that timeframe will be canceled.)

Did you know there are rigorous, challenging programs in all five NPS high schools and in six middle schools that appeal to every interest? The application period will begin in October 2025 for enrollment the following school year, with acceptance letters mailed in the spring.

Interested students and their families can learn more at the annual Specialty Programs Showcase, which features displays and demonstrations from each program along with an opportunity to interact with current students and staff.
