Our 5th Grade Norfolk Middle School students are learning to play guitars in their Music Class. Playing an instrument helps students build confidence while being creative!

We’re proud to share that all Norfolk Public Schools buildings are now designated Heart Safe through Project ADAM and Children’s Hospital! ❤️
Every NPS building has an AED available in case of an emergency, helping us be prepared to care for our students, staff and community when it matters most.
A special thank you to our school nurses for their leadership and dedication in helping us achieve this important designation and for all they do to keep our Panther family safe!

We are thrilled with the recent updates to the Junior High Theater! 🎭

This theater is an important part of our Junior High and serves as a valuable space for our students, staff and the entire community. We want it to be a place our students can be proud of and a space that will continue to serve our community for years to come.

We are incredibly thankful to the Norfolk Public Schools Foundation and our community partners who helped make these paint restoration updates possible. Your continued support makes a lasting difference for our students and schools!

Norfolk Junior High has stood at the corner of Fifth Street and Pasewalk Avenue for more than a century, and stepping inside the auditorium feels like a direct trip back in time.

Panther Academy is an important part of welcoming our new teachers to Norfolk Public Schools, helping them get comfortable in their new teaching roles, learn about our district and schools, and build connections with colleagues.

Physical Education Class is more than just running...it's about fitness, confidence and building lifelong healthy habits.
These 7th graders are ready to put their athleticism to work as they prepare for the PACER test. We love seeing our Panthers challenge themselves and work towards their personal best! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

As the school year gets underway, we want to remind everyone of the importance of showing up each day!

We understand illnesses and unexpected life events happen, but each day students are in school they are gaining so much...from learning and building relationships to developing important skills and being part of their school community.

A friendly reminder as the school year gets underway: each Wednesday is a 2pm dismissal for our K-12 students. This allows time for our staff to work in their Professional Learning Communities(PLCs) to support student learning and success.
