The School of Graduate Studies and Research is proud to congratulate Master of Social Work 2026 graduate Alauna Samuels on being selected to participate in the prestigious Virginia Governor’s Fellows Program!
This highly competitive program provides emerging leaders with a unique opportunity to gain firsthand experience. We are confident she will bring the values of the social work profession: advocacy, collaboration, and service to the program as she helps develop policy recommendations addressing important issues facing the Commonwealth.
Congratulations to Alauna Samuels, M.S.W. ’26, on being selected for the 2026 Virginia Governor’s Fellows Program. Selected from a record-breaking applicant pool, Samuels will gain hands-on experience supporting the work of state government while continuing her commitment to public service.
