Dr. Chaniece Winfield spearheaded a community-wide event to view the documentary "Tipping the Pain Scale," which explores systemic failures in approaches to addictions by following six characters and their innovated interventions in the addition crisis. Students, faculty, and community partners in-person and online viewed a panel discussion following the film, panelists including our own Drs. Jason Sawyer and Shuntay Tarver, plus an ODU alum Dr. Kurt Hooks. Congrats to the HMSV team who made it all happen!

Human Services students collaborated through ODU Community Care with students from multiple universities to provide a free healthcare clinic in Virginia Beach. They worked interprofessionally alongside nurses, speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, therapy pets, and more to ensure kids could get their vaccines and physicals before school starts!

Dr. Carlisle and Dean Simmons hosted a private graduation ceremony for Ms. Lorie Fisher who was unable to attend the regularly occurring ceremony. What a beautiful way to serve and include all our students. We hope to help others in the future, so reach out!
