Happy International Day of Light! This day is to celebrate the anniversary of the first successful operation of the laser in 1960 by physicist and engineer, Theodore Maiman. At the Center for Bioelectronics, we build upon the study of light to develop groundbreaking methodology and diagnostic tools to help our communities that are struggling with prominent diseases like diabetes and prostate and breast cancer as well as to foster scientific collaboration worldwide.
