Happy Mothers Day to all mothers of all kinds. Imagine the life of this mother, who lives 2-5 years and well beyond the short 5 week lifespan of her offspring, she is so busy laying 2,500 eggs a day she has no time to eat (dependant on attendant bees who feed and keep her warm or cool), leaving the hive only twice in her life, and is the center of her busy colony of over 50,000 bees! Gardener’s gold, only created by nature. The creator has no eyes to see, no ears to hear with, no teeth to chew (the tiny stones in the gizzard help with that), no nose to smell with, no legs to move with and no bones!

Don’t underestimate this tiny decomposer, they turn our stinky stuff into rich soil. How many castings you can find near Baxter’s paw?
