On the occasion of Janmashtami, sharing a video of Vishamakara Kannan, performed by my disciple Aswika Nair on her Arangetram in July. This piece portrays the playful and mischievous nature of Lord Krishna. Through lively Abhinaya, the dancer brings in life the charming antics of young Krishna.
It’s beautifully sung by my dear friend Snigdha Snigdha Venkataramani and supported by amazing musicians-Kesavan Anna on mridangam, Sai Kishore on flute and Anand Krishnan on violin.

It has been a month since Aswika stepped on stage for her Arangetram. As her guru, watching her shine on stage with confidence, grace, strength and such beautiful expressions was an incredibly proud and an emotional moment for me. Her performance reflected years of dedication, discipline and love she has poured into her dance. These pictures speak volumes about the beautiful performer she has blossomed into.
