Teaching your child to share takes time, patience, and practice. ❤️
Sharing is a skill children develop as they learn about empathy, patience, and taking turns. Here are a few simple ways to help your little one practice at home:
✨ 1. Start with taking turns.
Use simple phrases like, “Your turn, then my turn,” to help children understand the idea of waiting and switching.
✨ 2. Give them the words.
Teach phrases like, “Can I have a turn when you're finished?” or “Would you like to use mine?”
✨ 3. Don’t force sharing.
Children are allowed to have special toys or belongings they aren’t ready to share. Help them learn that sharing and taking turns are different.
✨ 4. Model sharing.
Children learn by watching us! Let them see you share, take turns, and talk about why sharing is kind.
✨ 5. Celebrate their progress.
When your child shares or takes a turn, acknowledge it: “I noticed you gave your friend a turn. That was very kind!”
Remember: sharing doesn't happen overnight. Every turn, every kind choice, and every little practice moment helps children build important social-emotional skills. 🌟
