Son Boriqua Dance Company A vibrant community of Puerto Ricans based in Norcross, GA, united by a shared love for our culture and traditions. Mes de la Herencia Hispana y Afroamericana.

Participate in workshops on Puerto Rican history and the origins and evolution of Bomba and Plena. In the Bomba y Plena Workshops (for adults and for youth), students learn Bomba songs, dances, rhythms, and beats along with Bomba history and its significance and place in Puerto Rican and Afro-Caribbean culture. Students also learn how to play cuás, barriles (drums), maracas. The workshop is taught

and directed by Lourdes Romero

ESTAMOS DISPONIBLES PARA PRESENTAR NUESTRO ESPECTÁCULO EN:
Actividades relacionadas con la cultura puertorriqueña, tales como las Fiestas de San Juan Bautista, Tradicionales Fiestas de Loíza, Celebración del Día del Descubrimiento de Puerto Rico, Fiestas en Honor a la Virgen de la Providencia, etc. Ferias de Salud para la comunidad hispana y latina. Antesala para otros espectáculos latinos. Actividades deportivas, recreativas y en iglesias de cualquier denominación. Fiestas de cumpleaños, bodas, quinceañeras y cualquier tipo de reunión familiar o profesional.

¡Este increíble recuerdo apareció hoy, llevándonos de vuelta a la década de 1990s-2000s!

✨Esta foto fue capturada en un encuentro comunitario organizado por la antigua Asociación Puertorriqueña de Georgia, una organización sin fines de lucro pionera fundada por la legendaria Carmín Villanueva. ¡El que sabe, SABE!

Mirar esta imagen nos recuerda que llevamos mucho tiempo en esto. Lourdes Romero y su equipo nunca dejaron caer el ritmo porque honramos profundamente nuestra cultura, a nuestros antepasados y nuestras tradiciones.

La misión siempre ha sido, y siempre será, compartir la alegría y la sanación de la Bomba y la Plena con nuestra comunidad.

A los pioneros que nos abrieron el camino en GA, y a las nuevas familias que se unen a nuestro círculo hoy: Gracias por mantener vivas nuestras raíces. 🌳✊🏽💯🇵🇷

This incredible memory popped up on our feed today, taking us all the way back to the 1990s! ✨

This photo was captured at a community gathering hosted by the former Puerto Rican Association of Georgia—a trailblazing nonprofit founded by the legendary Carmin Villanueva. If you know, you KNOW!

Looking at this image reminds us that we have been at this a very long time. Lourdes Romero and team never let the rhythm go because we deeply honor our culture, our ancestors, and the traditions passed down to us.

Our mission has always been, and will always be, to share the joy and healing of Bomba and Plena with our community. To the pioneers who paved the way for us in GA, and to the new families just joining our circle today: Thank you for keeping our roots alive. 🌳✊🏽💯🇵🇷

¡Muchísimas gracias a nuestra querida Zoé Felicié por brillar tanto en nuestro reciente Taller Bomba De Aqui! ✨Tu entrega en el batey fue espectacular, pero lo que realmente nos llena el corazón es mirar atrás y reconocer todo tu camino. Ya son más de tres décadas de dedicación incondicional, de incontables sacrificios, esfuerzo y un amor infinito por el folclor y la cultura. No solo eres una pieza fundamental de nuestro evento, sino el alma de nuestra gran familia de baile.
