it has been so hard to do lessons virtually, especially for the little ones. I had planned to retire at the end of May and was looking forward to one last wonderful recital, but COVID got in the way. We did front porch recitals at each home or on my porch. It wasn't how I wanted to end my teaching career, but there wasn't anything I could do about it. I miss all my dear students, but it was the right choice for me at this time. I miss it and I don't. isn't that funny. I don't miss all the time and effort I put into everything, but I do miss the students and their happy smiles.

Hope everyone has had a great summer. REmember lessons start the 4th of September. If you haven't kept track of your practicing so you can come to the ice cream sundae party, then start now - it's not too late. The rewards party will be on Saturday, sept 8th at 1:00. We'll have ice cream sundaes and watch a short music related movie. If you kept track, plan on attending. I'd like to know the favorite ice cream flavors of everyone so I can have them ready for you! Can't wait to see everyone again.

Our spring recital, "You're A Star" will be held this Saturday at 7 pm at 3600 Norconian Dr. in Norco. It will be a grand event with over 30 students participating from beginners to advanced. All are welcome!

National Piano Guild Auditions were held last Friday and Saturday. 9 students participated, all receiving superior minus or higher. Two were superior plus! They have all worked so hard to accomplish these ratings. Many have worked on them all this school year. It takes time to make a piece be at a top level. I'm sure some of them will retire those pieces right away :>

The Brahms Festival was held last friday and was a great success. All students performed and we learned more about Johannes Brahms and his music. All music was from the Romantic Period of music. It was a real treat! Students received a statue of Brahms, a cd of romantic era music and a biography of Brahms. I really love this event each year. I hold it in the back yard and everyone brings chairs or blankets for the grass area. It's lots of fun.
