🎉⚡Help us in Congratulating our 2026-2027 Teacher of the Year, Melissa Morales! ⚡🎉

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Mrs. Morales, one of our outstanding Middle School Math teachers, as our Laurel Nokomis School Teacher of the Year! 🏆

Mrs. Morales truly goes above and beyond for our students and our LNS community. From dedicating countless mornings over the years to providing additional math support, to coaching our basketball team, to helping our middle school math students achieve tremendous academic growth, her impact reaches far beyond the walls of her classroom. 📚➗🏀

What makes Mrs. Morales truly one of a kind is the genuine relationships she builds with her students. She believes in them, challenges them, supports them, and works tirelessly to help every student recognize their potential. Her dedication, passion, and commitment make a lasting difference in the lives of every student fortunate enough to work with her.

✨🌟 LET’S GLOW, LNS! 🌟✨

Our annual 5th & 6th Grade Glow Dance is coming soon! 🪩⚡ Get ready to light up the night with friends, music, dancing, food and fun! The dance will be held right after school on Friday, September 11th.

🎟️ Ticket Sales: All tickets will be sold during student lunch times on 9/8, 9/9 and 9/10. Ticket sales are cash only and are $15 per person which includes, pizza, soda, chips and entrance. Be sure to purchase yours before the big night!

The last two weeks have been fast and furious at LNS, and our Lightning are officially on the move! 🥾⚡

Students have continued building strong daily routines and procedures while taking on each new challenge along this year’s journey of learning. From engaging in meaningful small-group instruction and grappling with complex texts 📚, to earning Positive Referrals for demonstrating the Lightning Way ⚡—our students are showing up ready to learn, grow, and lead!

Even our Pre-K students began some exploratory learning making lemonade to help cool off during these hot days.

And, of course, we’ve added a little friendly competition with our PTO Color Wars, where classrooms are battling it out through participation and school spirit! 🎨🏆

We’re only two weeks in, and there are already so many great moments to celebrate. Keep climbing, Lightning—the journey is just getting started! ⚡🥾💙

Middle School Soccer, Tennis & Volleyball tryouts are coming up! 🏐⚽🎾

If you’re ready to compete, work hard, and represent Laurel Nokomis School, now is your time to get ready! Tryouts begin August 24–25, depending on the sport. Be sure to check the flyer for your specific tryout dates, times, and locations.

📣 IMPORTANT: All athletes must have their online athletic packet completed BEFORE tryouts.
