The Institute for Education in International Media (ieiMedia) sponsors summer study-abroad programs for college students and recent grads.

This page is for alumni, faculty, journalism educators and prospective students. In our summer study-abroad program students learn a range of media skills -- photography, videojournalism, international reporting and writing for digital media -- and report on the host community. For each project, students produce a publication — a multimedia website, print magazine or book — about the community where they live and learn.

 “The Gilman Program enhanced my study abroad experience through funding and peer connection. I wouldn’t have been able to afford studying abroad as a first-generation student without the generous scholarship I received. There was another Gilman scholar in the Berlin program and we hope to present our experiences to other first-generation students soon. Overall, I really enjoyed learning and reporting with a great group of young journalists and experienced faculty!” 🌍📝
