Changing the setting can work wonders on littles! 🌷

Are your kids going stir crazy? Take them outside. Does your class need to refocus? Have them move from their desks to flexible seating. Is your virtual student unengaged? Get them out of their chairs to be up close with the camera & you’ll have their full attention. 😝
..Exploring nature keeps these three happy even if the big one seems to be poking the middle one with flowers while the little one screams hello to a dog passing by. 🌿

Reason 49 for teaching online: To be present for all the moments. 🤗🌿

Little man turned 15 months this week & it has been amazing to watch him grow & soak everything in. He puts up with his sassy sisters, has a crazy vocabulary, & most importantly; a thriving cleaning business. My mama heart is so happy to be able to be home with all three kiddos... Even if they drive me crazy most days. 🤪

It’s hard to believe my online teaching journey began three Easters ago! I remember prepping during dinner for my interview that night... May have procrastinated & only passed the lower level mock but that’s fine. 🙈

I hope everyone has had a Happy Easter! We just got back from our trip & it was oh so good to see friends & family. Spring break ends tomorrow & I cannot wait to get back into my classroom. How did you spend your weekend?! 🐰🥕

Say hello to my favorite bathroom to teach out of. The lighting is 👌🏼 & the background is 🤤. The last time I taught in here, someone decided to sneak in & use the potty right next to me during a lesson. Thank goodness for that mute button. 🙈🚽

Also... Who let me out of the house like this? Humidity was not my friend today. ☀️

Pizza is a type of self-care, right?! 🍕 As a mama who works from home while watching three littles, setting aside the time for me is a must. When I take care of me, it makes me a better mother & teacher. Quiet time, organizing, & comfort foods keep me sane. Luckily, makes it easy to indulge in some cheesey pizza. 😋 What are some of your favorite things to do for self-care? 💆🏼‍♀️

I sure do love virtual teaching & learning but sometimes in-person instruction cannot be fully duplicated. For some kiddos, online classes are the way to go but others thrive off of being in a school setting. My daughter’s reading has exploded since starting hybrid learning & it’s a huge reminder that every student learns differently. 📖🌿

We just found out that our county plans to offer full-time in-person learning next year & I can’t wait. Now tell me! How is school looking for your area right now? Are you virtual, hybrid, or in-person?! 👩🏼‍🏫🍎

This week’s obsessions have been these overalls & my four star rating. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

After sharing about how I received a not so perfect rating because of a chatty class, many of you told me the same has happened to you & I can’t stop thinking about how to improve for future classes. Yes, four stars is still considered good & I have some five stars complimenting my classroom management but I’m an overthinking perfectionist ...mmkay?! 🙃

So here are 5 tips for a chatty virtual class!

1. Get the students talking with a purpose.
2. Let students know they can share stories after or at the end of class.
3. Random calling helps make sure everyone is called on equally & helps with blurting out.
4. Set clear expectations at the beginning of each class & model what you’d like your students to do.
5. Stay consistent! Students thrive off of consistency & it works.
