In the midst of all that is going on in the world, we are celebrating the songs that Kenny Rogers brought to us. RIP https://ift.tt/3bkk7SI

I love dressing up for Halloween and being someone else for one night. This year, we had very little time to prepare, so we made it easy and decided on punk rock. I think we pulled it off! https://ift.tt/32Rjkox

Please read this....
This post was in a FB quilting group and was brought to my attention. I’ve edited out the name of the person who posted it and also the many people who thought it was a wonderful idea, however I can’t unsee it and let it slide. This is stealing people. Photocopying a designers pattern, be it from a book- yes, even a library book- or from a pdf, a printed pattern or a Block or the Month, is a breach of copyright and also just plain sh*tty. You are taking the hard work of someone who gets paid very little anyway, stealing that content and taking money straight from the designers pocket. This is apparently someone you admire or you wouldn’t want their pattern in the first place. Accepting the pattern from the person who photocopies it is just as bad. You can give someone your pattern if you’ve finished with it - although that measly $12 or $15 for most patterns you just saved also came directly out of the pocket of a designer you admire- but “lending” it or copying it is really really not cool. I have had this happen on many occasions, including discovering one person in a group buying my BOM program and then giving it out to all their friends, people photocopying from their friends books to bring to my classes and even a shop selling a PDF pattern they bought in my online shop, photocopied and then sold with kits for the quilt. Do this and you’re a thief. Plain and simple. If you see this behavior in a group you belong to, please call it out, or tell the designer being ripped off so that they can deal with it.
Ps. If you’re the person who wrote this post, feel free to contact me. I’m not taking it down, I didn’t name you- but I’m happy to give you a lesson in not taking other people’s things that you should have learned from your mama.

This house guest has been keeping me company for several weeks and has definitely made himself comfortable in our home! I have forgotten what it is like to have a cat in the house. He has opened so many windows on my computer as he lays on the keyboard, tries to hide under the bed to “attack” when I walk by, and loves to be close by but not on my lap. It’s been a lot of fun to have him here!

So excited to share a peak at my new fabric collection. I’m always amazed to see my name on the selvage. Hoping to share a project or two soon! Look for it in your local shops December 2019!

So happy that I had a chance to go to Quilt Market and walk around the show. Such a different experience from the other side, not as an exhibitor. And this quilt in Windham Fabrics booth was spectacular! http://bit.ly/2VT4deS

On vacation and the weather is not cooperating with us. Tropical storm conditions may have kept us inside most of the day, but watching the waves and the rain come and go from the balcony was very cool. Hoping the wind and rain go away soon so we can catch some sun!

Such an adventure to be a part of Missouri Star Quilt Company’s Birthday Bash! I had a great time making a “cake” with Windham Fabrics and got to be part of Jenny Doan’s team for the Sew-lebrity Sew Off!
